Fredericksburg, Texas — the home of Fredericksburg Artists' School — is a small, friendly community located in the Texas Hill Country, about 75 miles west of Austin and about 65 miles northwest of San Antonio.
Fredericksburg is quickly gaining a reputation for art and quality of living found in other smaller art communities around the country.
With a strong German heritage found in its architecture and history, along with
the picturesque surroundings Fredericksburg forms a beautiful backdrop for artistic visions.
The Texas Hill Country — with rolling hills, majestic oak and pecan trees, sparkling streams, abundant wildlife, clean air, farms and ranches, breathtaking wildflower and bluebonnet fields, and clear skies — is the source for artistic expression at its best.
Fredericksburg, Texas is located less than 1.5 hours from San Antonio's international airport.
For those not taking a Fredericksburg Artists' School class, other types of inspiring activities can be found in town — golf, fishing, kayaking, shopping and good-ole-plain rest and relaxation.
